Many years ago my cousin Mike invited me to a private bowling party for his work. We had such a great time that I decided to have a bowling party to celebrate my upcoming birthday.

We had such a great time bowling that year that our "bodacious bowling bash" turned into a birthday tradition. We held our bowling party at our local bowling alley in Pasadena for 5 years straight. Every year though, the prices seemed to be a bit higher. I mentioned this to my buddy Paul and he suggested moving our bowling party to the Montrose Bowl. I recalled going there many years previously and decided to investigate the cost of a private bowling party.

I stopped by to speak with the owners and they were super friendly and very helpful. They showed me around the place and I decided to put down a deposit for our bowling event.

I liked the idea of having a private bowling party. It gave us more control over our event and it turned out to be more cost effective. We decided to order food from Al's Deli next door (and some other local eateries) and Montrose Bowl provided the rest. Everything turned out perfect and it was about $10 less per person compared to what we were previously paying at our local bowling establishment.

My sister & I decided on an 80's theme. Feel free to check out photos from our party. We plan on doing this again next year.

The Montrose Bowl can provide some finger foods & sandwiches. Their fries & onion rings are good, but if you are having a large group and would like to serve healthier fare, I would recommend bringing in your own food. (We used Panda Express, Subway & Al's Deli for our party). All drinks must be purchased onsite. They have the usual assortment of fountain drinks, and for the adults, they have a VERY well stocked beer refrigerator and a few wine options.

The decor is very "retro" and you even get to take score by hand. The staff is very friendly and will assist you with anything you may need during your party. If you are having a children's party, (or you have people with tiny feet) make sure to bring "approved tennis shoes" due to their limited selection of bowling shoes in smaller sizes.

If you are planning a bowling party, be sure to check the availability of Montrose Bowl. Last I checked, they we're booked 6 months (or more) in advance, but the date you want may still available.

Have a great time bowling at Montrose Bowl and be sure to let me know what you think of the place.
